My Observation Essay
Our Little Schoolroom
Welcome to our schoolroom.
You have just stepped into our time of learning. I hope you enjoy it here!
It is quite hard to hear much since Trevor is 'stretching his vocal cords' as he imitated a seagull... screeching away. But when he stops for a few minutes to take a rest you can hear Dylan's math on the computer blaring questions like 'What is 68 multiplied by 27?'. I'm not sure which is louder!
When you look around the room, your first impression might be that we are sloppy. it is true, there are books scattered on desks, and plates of toast at the elbow of one of us students.
There is a globe, standing tall and regal, amidst pencils, pens, and erasers. There is a Christmas Cactus sitting in a corner, unnoticed, but slowly sprouting it's pink beauty.
There's posters, art, and maps hanging randomly on our walls.
Though some may consider us unorganized, we know where everything is. We can find our way around and get things done.
There is a piano int the back room, making friendly tunes. It much rather prefers to be played than to sit all alone.
You can also smell the bread being toasted. It smells yummy and crispy.
Then when its pulled out of the toaster it us smothered in butter and honey. It's our favourite snack.
Tia's fat brown hamster sleeps peacefully in his cage. He sleeps all day but when he wakes up at night he runs on his wheel constantly.
Mom leans over to help her student. She is very good at assisting us.
Dylan studies his math, a frown creasing his brow. His sharp mind usually does well at it, but only when he chooses to.
I study the map, trying to find the country of Nepal. When I find it, I light up in excitement, overjoyed at the dots beginning to connect.
Now it's time for you to leave, we'll say goodbye to you. I wish you could stay longer in our schoolroom.
I know our place is messy, but we still learn a lot.
Even though we argue almost everyday, our family appreciates the time spent down in our little schoolroom.
